For 20+ years, Steve has operated a successful Lean/Six Sigma consulting practice, working in a diverse set of industries such as Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, and Automotive. He consistently earns a high degree of client satisfaction and retention by achieving significant and measurable results that actually “move the needle”. His results focused, hands on approach differentiate him from many of his peers. Steve’s Operations management experience, knowledge and aptitude in Lean concepts, and technical education combine to make him a powerful agent of change for his clients. This combination enables him to help his clients identify and exploit real opportunities for improvement in their operations.
Steve started his consulting business in 1998. Prior to that time, he held progressively more responsible Operations leadership roles at GE Aviation in Cincinnati, OH. In 1990, while at GE Aviation, he introduced the concepts of the Toyota Production System into manufacturing. This began a dramatic shift in manufacturing and operational philosophy at the company and the Aerospace industry as a whole. He went on to lead the Lean Manufacturing transformation at GE Aviation as an early adopter of the Toyota Production System (TPS).
Steve has acquired an in-depth understanding of the TPS, learning from the people who originally implemented the system at Toyota and who later became the founders of the Shingijutsu Company. Through hundreds of cycles of learning and several in-depth study trips to Japan with the Shingijutsu consultants his knowledge and expertise is among the best in the industry.
Steve received his B. S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Louisiana State University, and a Masters in Management from the Krannert School of Business at Purdue University.
